Art installation concept based on the New York City’s subway stations and the stages of death. The use of the numbers are symbolic.
Muerte (Death) numbers 1-3 stand for the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The directional X is symbolic for the many way’s one could pass away. Velorio (Wake) numbers 4-6 normally takes up to three days for all your loved one’s, family and friends to pay there respects. The directional arrow to the right is symbolic for mourning as those that gather together pray to send you forward to the after life. Entierro (Burial) number 7 (The directional symbol pointing below) , is symbolic for being placed into the ground. Todos (All) The directional symbol pointing to the left is symbolic for the cycle of life.
